A Holistic Approach to Pelvic Physical Therapy

Pelvic health is about more than just muscles and anatomy—it’s about the whole person.

In our practice, a holistic approach means looking beyond just the physical structures of the pelvic floor—muscles, nerves, connective tissue—and considering how the nervous system, breathing patterns, emotional health, and past experiences all contribute to how the body functions and heals.

Many pelvic floor issues are not just mechanical—they’re also deeply connected to stress, trauma, anxiety, and nervous system dysregulation. These factors can amplify pain, tension, and dysfunction. That’s why I incorporate techniques that support the entire body and mind, such as:

  • Breathwork and diaphragm-pelvic floor connection

  • Gentle nervous system regulation and vagus nerve stimulation

  • Mind-body awareness and visualization

  • Education and tools to reduce fear, shame, or confusion about symptoms

This holistic lens allows me to treat not just the condition, but the context in which it exists. It invites healing through curiosity rather than judgment, and fosters a sense of agency, safety, and trust in your body again.

Whether you’re dealing with pain, incontinence, prolapse, or postnatal recovery, we’ll work together to support both your physical and emotional well-being, recognizing how deeply intertwined they are.

Healing is not just about doing more—it’s often about listening more gently.
