Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept health insurance?
Currently we are able to accept most Highmark, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and United Healthcare plans. For out-of-network patients, we also offer self- pay options!
How long are PT sessions?
Evaluations are typically 60-90 minutes and treatment sessions are 45-60 minutes, all one-on-one with your therapist.
What is holistic physical therapy?
What is trauma-informed care?
Do I have to do an internal exam during the evaluation?
No! While an internal exam is definitely a good way to fully assess the pelvic floor, we understand it may not be something you are comfortable with. There is so much we can do to assess the pelvic floor muscles externally, anywhere from treating over underwear, clothes or even not touching the body at all. You are in control of every session and you will never be pressured to do something that makes you uncomfortable.
When can I start pelvic PT after giving birth?
Whether or not we initially will perform any internal pelvic examination or treatment will depend on a variety of factors, but generally we can begin seeing you for postpartum physical therapy within a few weeks of giving birth.
Can I attend pelvic PT if I am menstruating?
Yup - that is a question we get a lot. Having your period does not affect PT treatment at all, at least from your therapist’s perspective! Internal exams and any other treatment can be performed while you are bleeding. However!! If you are not feeling into internal work when you are menstruating, just let your PT know!
Do you treat transgender patients?
Yes, we treat transgender patients pre or post gender-affirming care and anywhere in between!
Can I bring my partner or friend to the session?
Absolutely! You are always welcome to bring someone with you to your sessions, either to sit with you during treatment or just chill in the waiting area until you are done.
